Perennial Nursery's hosta forum states that M. Zilis agreed the tc specimens on the market are not the same as what was registered. See http://www.perennialnursery.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=60993&sid=177ed70b86893fb583190d2bcee19ced
The Registrar contacted Mark Zilis for clarification. April 28, 2018 Mark stated "I obtained 'Oshima Silk' from Mr. Shimizu in Japan in 2006. It is a seedling of H. pycnophylla with a distinctly white back.....At this point, I do not think it advisable to change the registration."
